Infertility Sisterhood

Connect with other women who are struggling with infertility - your new friends you didn’t know how bad you needed! The challenge to become a mother when you are infertile can be overwhelming, and is important that you are surrounded by people who understand what you are going through and can support you.

Stress and Infertility

According to Alice Domar, while stress may not be the cause of infertility it can certainly contribute to the problem. Let’s talk about the Sympathetic and Parasympathetic Nervous system. These two pathways work very well to keep our body in balance. We are constantly moving between cycles of relaxation and arousal.

Female & Male Infertility

There are many hormones at play during an ovulatory cycle. A quantitative blood test (aka Beta Test) measures the exact amount of hCG in the blood and can detect a pregnancy 7-12 days from conception. A normal hCG level will roughly double every 48 to 72 hours, up to 6,000 mIU/ml.

Greif & Trauma

Research has found that females* experiencing infertility have emotional stress levels similar to cancer patients and cardiac rehabilitation patients. Females* who remain involuntarily childless (4% of the population) and have experienced pregnancy loss or failure to conceive report the lowest life satisfaction and highest levels of depression despite a considerable period of time (seven years) since the loss or first year without a conception.

Visualization & Meditation

Our thoughts determine our emotional states and our emotional state influences our actions in certain situations. Cognitive restructuring interrupts this cycle of emotional thoughts that negatively affects outcomes. When you use cognitive restructuring, you identify your negative thoughts, question their veracity and validity, and then replace them with new thoughts that are kinder and more accurate.

Lifestyle Factors

We understand the important role of hormones in balancing the body and increasing infertility. Although there are a multitude of reasons people can experience infertility, the research shows us that lifestyle factors can have a substantial effect.

As a young adult I immersed myself in the knowledge of plant medicine. 20 plus years later, I own and operate Triple Moon Alchemy herbal apothecary and recently opened Ancient Fertility, preconception optimization support services. I facilitate one on one as well as group support sessions.
